Little Linds goes to the market

I finally wake up in time to go to our local open market before it closes. Aside from all the publicly butchered meat (blegh!), I am in cheese, bread, and fruit heaven.

I buy a bag of (insert FRESH in front of the following): sundried tomatoes, pesto, reggiano cheese, mozzarella cheese, bread, apples, oranges, tomatoes, tortellini, and sauce. ALL, for 25 euro.
The tomatoes smell like I just picked them off the vine (I used to grow tomatoes so I say this knowledgeably), and there is every kind of salami, bread, wine, and olive oil imaginable. It’s so unlike any American market, outdoor or indoor, that I have been to.

We make our first dinner at home this night: Sautéed sundried tomatoes and tortellini with cream sauce, and a bottle of Chianti, of course. It doesn’t get much better than this.

It was a Borghetto 2008 in case you were wondering, Dad :)
