Eat, Drink, Discover

I make it first to class again today (atypical), but forget my Italian book (typical).

I'm already obsessed with beginning Italian. It's not going to be easy but my professor and the 6 other students in my class (not complaining with that) are pretty awesome.

After my hour session, I now know how to say my name, my age, where I'm from- the basics. It's probably a little more useful than learning "shut up" from drunk Italian men.

In between classes, I search for my favorite panini place, but stumble upon a shop that advertises the best chocolate in Florence. (You can't just pass by a sign of this nature.)

I see a poster for flavored espresso shots (hazelnut, whiskey, rum) and have to try. I really shouldn't be spending any more money, but in honor of discovery, I can't resist something new. Especially something that involves my three favorite things in the entire world: chocolate, coffee, and alcohol. And it's only 2 euro.

So I ask the owner's favorite and end up with a chocolate, rum, espresso shot. Please, tell me, something that sounds better than this.

In keeping with the integrity of discovery,I must admit that this wasn't the ecstasy of the tastebuds I expected. Still, it was well worth trying out, and now I know to get hazelnut next time :)
